PCWHS-SPFL Winning Video on Asia-Pacific German Language Olympics 2019
PCWHS-SPFL German student, Samantha Fuchs qualified in the 2019 Asia Pacific Deutsch Olympics (APDO) which will be held on Aug. 10-16, 2019 at Bogor, Indonesia.
The Asian-Pacific German Olympics (APDO is an international competition for young learners studying German Language in selected high schools in Asia Pacific Regions, including the Philippines. Its aim is to unite German learners from the entire Asian-Pacific region and to show them that they can build friendships across country borders, cultures and religions through the German language.
Joining Fuchs in the international contest are five other Deutsch learners namely Ronarie Entoma (Jose Abad Santos High School), Lyn Arielle Villorente (New Era High School), Hussnie Bin Abdulcarim, Kate Louie Francisco, and Nishren Moctar (Liceo De Cagayan).
Samantha, and the other five students, qualified in the competition after winning the National Video Making contest done last summer. Eleven Deutsch learners from the following SPFL German schools in the Philippines: Bangkal High School, German European School Manila (International Section),Jose Abad Santos High School, Liceo de Cagayan University, New Era High School (HS), Novaliches HS, Paranaque National HS, Pasay City West HS, Rizal HS-Main, San Francisco HS, San Juan National HS, joined the contest and submitted their video through YouTube on April 12, 2019. Winners of the contest was announced by Ms. Grace Torres, the APDO project coordinator in the Philippines through Facebook on May 22, 2019. Mrs. Jenelyn E. Bareng is the coach of Fuchs.
