PCWHS gleamed with pride as it acknowledged hundreds of Junior and Senior High School students for their extra-curricular efforts and outstanding accomplishments this School Year 2018-2019 during the Recognition Day, April 1, 2019 at the school gymnasium.
Present in the event were Dr. Myrna B. Gaza, PCWHS Principal; Dr. Anita R. Atienza, Assist. Principal JHS; Mrs. Grace B. Torres, Assist. Principal SHS; Mrs. Nida D. Raagas, Guidance Coordinator; department heads – Mrs. Bettina D. Amiscaray, Filipino; Mrs. Veronica D. Miranda, English; Ms. Eva E. Sabarillo, Science; Dr. Aracelie S. Serdaña, Math; Mrs. Socorro C. Domingo, Araling Panlipunan; Ms. Ana Marie Afuang, Values Education; Miss Lucila L. Monton, MAPEH; Mrs. Liberty Elizabeth L. Villanueva, Home Economics; and Mr. Perfecto E. Bobis, Jr, Practical Arts.
Guest speaker of the affair was the valedictorian of the school’s 1992 batch Lt. Col. Ariel Ibay who is also a licensed Neuro-Psychiatrist. Themed “Unity in Diversity: Quality Education for All”, the occasion honored the students who performed well in academics as well as in athletics, arts, and other co-curricular activities.
It was the tireless efforts of the school Master Teachers with Mr. Alejandro R. De Vera as the over-all chairman and Mrs. Ma. Gloria C. Castillo as the program chairperson, and the entire Pasay City West High School Community headed by the school principal, Dr. Myrna B. Gaza, which made the event successful.
Mrs. Remedios B. Dominguez emceed the event. The school Angklung Ensemble and the School Chorale led the singing of the National Anthem and Pasay march with Ms. Juliet H. Brioso and Mrs. Chrismarilene R. Cabataña. The school’s Dance Troupe gave special dance number, Mr. Omar Aguilar trained them.
