Maynilad Water Services, Inc. conducted an informative seminar on wastewater management at the Pasay City West High School Audio Visual Room (AVR) on September 27, 2023.

A total of 54 participants, including students from grades 8, 10, and 12, along with members of the SSLG, actively participated in the event.

Maynilad invited speakers to talk about the company’s Wastewater Management Campaign. They are: Mr. Cedric Orcioq, Mr. Eduard Jorge Duran, Mr. Benjie Dela Cruz, and Mr. Nigel Kenu Arellano. They shared insights from a study conducted by the University of the Philippines, saying that 80% of wastewater produced each day comes from Maynilad customers. They emphasized the importance of wastewater treatment claiming, “If there is no treatment, it may affect our health, nature, and aquatic life.” The speakers also shed light on Maynilad’s two key wastewater management services: septage and septic tank cleaning. “Without these facilities, wastewater will not be managed which in turn can cause problems in public health and in the environment.” The audience was encouraged to address wastewater-related concerns within their respective communities by reaching out to their local barangays. Furthermore, attendees were informed that customers can easily contact Maynilad through the dedicated hotline, 1626, or through the company’s official Facebook page and Twitter account.
