The Senior and Lady Scouts Pasay City West High School attended the NCR jamboree at Mt. Makiling Forest Park, Los Banos, Laguna on Aug. 22-26, 2018.
The troops were accompanied by Sctr. John Francis L. Octaviano, the Deputy Leader for Camp Administration, and Sctr. Hector P. Villareal, the Module Commander for High Adventure and Challenge Valley. They manned the leaders from Pasay and Mandaluyong Council.
The scouts faced various trainings under three modules – World Scout for Environment Program, High Adventure and Challenge Valley, and World Brotherhood Module. The first module concentrated on taking care of the environment and understanding the impact of Climate Change where the scouts learned to pitch their tents and develop the area command. They also received training in back to basic, knot tying and lashing and bandaging. Under the second module, the scouts’ courage, endurance and strength were tested through different physical activities. The last module put emphasis on Spiritualty and religious obligation of the Scouts.
The jamboree also served as training for crew leader. Leadership was ceremoniously passed on daily to the Senior Crew Leaders of their respective Schools. As the Jamboree ends, the Council Scout Executive announced that all participants earned their rank advancement which was given Nov. 17, 2018.
