Marking the culmination of Children’s Month, PCWHS, through the efforts of the Gender and Development Focal Person, Mrs. Socorro C. Domingo, and its Technical Working Group, has organized a seminar-workshop titled “Girls EmpouHERment” on Nov. 28, 2023, at the school’s AVR.

Participants in the event are young woman leaders from Grade 7 to 12 classes. Invited guests talked about various topics that promote awareness of children’s policies and rights, positive discipline, and self-defense. SK Chairman and SK Federation President Benedict Angeles discussed the qualities of a good student leader and shared his advocacy on women’s rights. Likewise, PCWHS Guidance Coordinator Ms. Shierene D. Raquipo talked on the Child Protection Policy. Then, one of the school’s guidance teachers, Mr. Hannah Ruth R. David, shared her expertise on promoting Positive Discipline. To the delight of the audience, small giveaways were given to those who actively participated.

During the afternoon session, participants watched a demonstration on how to defend oneself from perpetrators. This was followed by a workshop that focused on creating an infomercial on how to eliminate or reduce violence in school. Mrs. Piedad O. Diola, GAD-TWG Leader, facilitated the workshop.
