In compliance with National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council’s memorandum, Pasay City West High School did a number of earthquake drills for this school year.
The first drill was done on June 28, 2018 at the school ground. Present to evaluate the drill were Mr. Felix T. Guerrero, Planning Officer I of the Pasay City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office for the morning session and Mr. Dindo B. Manzano, the School Disaster Risk Reduction Management Chairperson of P. Zamora Elementary School. Both evaluators noted that the students, teachers, administrators and other personnel followed the procedures before and during the drill. To wit: orientation on the earthquake drill was conducted before the actual drill; ringing of the bell is loud enough to be heard; Duck, Cover and Hold technic was executed; participants waited for the bell to stop before evacuating; participants followed their designated routes; participants walked faster than usual; and headcount was done.
The second drill was done on Aug. 23, 2018 and the last one was on Nov. 15, 2018. The said drills were facilitated by the PCWHS-DRRM Chairperson Mr. Ireneo T. Macaspag, Mr. Jaycent Bustos, and Mr. John Francis Octaviano.
