James Syrel R. Dela Cruz bagged the gold medal in combative arnis during the Division Palaro 2018 held at Pasay City South High School on Dec. 6, 2018. The said victory allowed dela Cruz to qualify in the regional level of the said athletic competition.

Apart from dela Cruz, seven other Westians amassed medals in arnis. Medwin Angelo L. Arcilla nabbed the silver medal in anyo arnis.  Arcilla further joined Tom Joshua L. Dinglasan, Hubert L. Gomez, Jr., and Joemari N. Osorio in podium by winning bronze medal in combative arnis.

The girls also did their share for the school. Vivien Cupat won silver medal in arnis anyo while snatching bronze in combative. Rheanne Rose Tablatin and Norhanisah C. Solaiman also got bronze medal in the same sport. Coach of the school’s arnis team is Mr. Reynaldo Panlaqui
