The Pasay City West High School (PCWHS) Men’s Volleyball Team’s historic surge was halted by Pasay City East High School (PCEHS), making their NCR dream slip away as they fell in straight sets, 25–17, 25–20, 25–21, in the Championship Match of the Secondary Division Palaro held at the Epifanio Delos Santos Elementary School Covered Court last Friday, November 28, 2025.

The Eastians claimed their fifth Division Meet Men’s Volleyball championship title, keeping them on track for another back-to-back crown next year.

The first set saw the Eastians quickly find their rhythm, with Marius Monterola delivering precise sets that Ellyson Rojas converted into powerful spikes, giving them an early 3–0 lead. The Westians fought valiantly, with Rodolfo Estil firing crucial spikes and Anthony Cosio adding strong blocks to narrow the gap to 7–13. Attacks from Ehrron Lhatina and a smart drop ball by James Panlican gave West a brief boost, but Eastian hitter Warren Valencia closed the door with decisive spikes to seal the set, 25–17.

In the second set, the Westians attempted to mount a comeback. Cosio scored a momentum-shifting block on Valencia, while Dior Dabela energized the team with a down-the-line hit that tied the score at 2–2. However, Eastian middle hitter Masen Uriel Tiamzon answered with aggressive swings, and Rojas continued to convert crucial points, allowing the Eastians to pull away and take the set, 25–20.

The third set showcased the Eastians’ dominance. Rojas’ attacking prowess, combined with Monterola’s strategic playmaking, left the Westians struggling to adapt as they fell behind, 17–10. Despite the Westians’ persistent effort and continued offensive attempts, the Eastians countered every run, eventually securing the match and the championship with a final score of 25–21.

The Eastians now advance to represent Pasay in the upcoming National Capital Region Palaro. Meanwhile, the Westians set their sights on rebuilding and growth, determined to turn this setback into fuel for a stronger campaign next year under the guidance of their dedicated coaches: Mr. Alex Cabintoy, Mr. Raian Gonzales Panoy, and Mr. Rodrigo Badion Delacruz Jr.
