Pasay City West High School (PCWHS) welcomes a Chinese Volunteer Teacher (CVT) as part of a new initiative aimed at enhancing the Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL) for Chinese learners. The deployment of CVTs, running from September 1, 2024, to March 30, 2025, is a collaborative effort between the Confucius Institute at the Angeles University Foundation (CI-AUF) and the Department of Education.
Ms. Qiang Yuhan was introduced to the school on September 13, 2024, by Ms. Myleen Camille Sarmiento Pinlac. School Principal Mr. Agapito Teodoro N. Manaog, Mrs. Veronica D. Miranda, Head VI of the English Department, Dr. Imelda V. Boquiren, Education Program Supervisor, and the PCWHS Mandarin teachers, led by Mrs. Celia L. Singcol, the SPFL focal person, extended a warm welcome.
This program aims to immerse learners in authentic language practice with a native speaker. Ms. Yuhan brings her expertise and passion for language education to our SPFL-Chinese learners. Her involvement will not only elevate learners’ language skills but also foster a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. The school administration is committed to ensuring her safety and providing comfortable accommodation during her stay.
This initiative aligns with the broader goal of fostering cross-cultural exchange and enhancing foreign language education in the Philippines.
