Pasay City West High School took a significant step towards promoting cleanliness and a healthy learning environment on September 15, 2023, by organizing a schoolwide general cleaning day.
The event aimed to ensure that the campus remains pristine while minimizing disruption to the regular class schedule. To achieve this, a modified class period of 40 minutes was adopted for the day. Morning sessions commenced promptly at 6:00 a.m. and concluded at 10:20 a.m., allowing students and teachers to actively participate in the cleaning process. Afternoon classes were scheduled from 12:20 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the last two hours of each session allotted for cleaning. Students joined hands in scrubbing the walls, floors, and boards, and also removed cobwebs from the ceilings and dusted the windows.
Prior to the general cleaning day, students were instructed to bring cleaning materials such as rugs, brooms, broomsticks, and pails. The school provided soap and bleach. This activity was conducted in compliance with School Memo No. 48, Series of 2023, issued by the school principal on September 11, 2023.
