Pasay City West High School (PCWHS) has once again showcased its exceptional talent and academic prowess as two of its Grade 10 students clinched 3rd place in the Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT) held in Parañaque from June 19 to June 21, 2023.

The esteemed students who brought honor to the school are Delfin Angeles III (10 – Einstein) in the Read-a-Thon: Sulat Bigkas ng Talumpati category and Geollana T. Eleazar (10 – Rizal) in SPFL Mandarin Lingo Star. These remarkable students were skillfully guided and trained by their dedicated mentors, Ms. Ira Mae Bucago and Mrs. Celia L. Singcol, respectively.

Angeles impressed the judges in the Read-a-Thon: Sulat Bigkas ng Talumpati category, while Eleazar captivated the audience with her flair in the SPFL Mandarin Lingo Star competition. Both students were skillfully guided and trained by their dedicated mentors, Ms. Ira Mae Bucago and Mrs. Celia L. Singcol, respectively.

The RFOT, with the theme “Reinforcing 21st Century Learning and Fostering Creative Industries through Talents and Skills Exhibition,” served as a platform for young students from various schools in the region to showcase their diverse talents and skills.

Despite fierce competition and aiming for academic achievement awards, Angeles and Eleazar displayed outstanding performances, earning the admiration and pride of their school and division.

Ms. Bucago and Mrs. Singcol, who played instrumental roles in mentoring and guiding the students, expressed sincere gratitude to the educators and staff who contributed to shaping the talents of their students. Special recognition was given to Dr. Imee V. Boquiren (EPS-English), Mrs. Rowela Reyes Cadayona (EPS-Filipino), Mr. Peter R. Cannon Jr. (Principal of PCWHS), Mrs. Veron D. Miranda (Head of the English Department), and Mrs. Bettina Amiscaray (Head of the Filipino Department).

The achievements of Delfin Angeles III and Geollana T. Eleazar are a testament to PCWHS’s commitment to nurturing the holistic growth of its students. Through unwavering support and dedication from mentors and the school administration, Pasay City West High School continues to produce outstanding individuals who shine not only in academics but also in various talents and skills.
