Pasay City West High School teachers and learners of Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL) held a cultural activity on April 4, 2023, in the school’s gymnasium.

The event, themed “Fostering Connections Across Diverse Cultures to Meet the Challenges of the 21st Century,” highlighted Chinese-Mandarin and Deutsche cultures. Ma. Garde B. Cleofe, the school’s assistant principal, delivered the opening remarks on behalf of Mr. Peter R. Cannon Jr., the school principal. Dr. Imelda V. Boquiren, Education Program Supervisor in English, conveyed a message through a video presentation, while Mrs. Veronica Miranda, English Department Head, gave the closing remarks. Their messages emphasized the significance of the Culminating Activity as evidence of the SPFL students’ learning and development of valuable skills for the future. They also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the SPFL students and teachers.

The Cosplay contest was a highlight of the event. In the Mandarin category, the winners were:

The emcees of the event were Ysabella Defensor and Micky Villaluz. The event began with an invocation led by Markken Medina. Grade 7 and 8 Mandarin students delivered delightful performances, while each grade level had two representatives who danced joyfully for the Deutsch category. The event also featured exhibits, games, and a variety of food prepared by the SPFL students and teachers, available for students, teachers, and visitors. The SPFL Culminating Activity 2023 was a successful and splendid event.
