To reinforce its commitment to gender equality, Pasay City West High School’s Gender and Development (GAD) committee organized a vibrant celebration of Women’s Month on March 18, 2023, held at the school’s gymnasium.

Themed “Gender Equality Inclusive Society,” the event aimed to honor the dedicated teaching and non-teaching personnel who have demonstrated exceptional service to the school and its community.

The celebration recognized outstanding educators through the “Kagalingan sa Pagtuturo” awards, bestowed upon the following teachers: Al Beceril for Filipino, Myrna Pantoja for English, Almeda Macaranas for Math, Herminia Balantakbo for Science, Arlene Joy Jacob for Araling Panlipunan, Mildred Romanban for TLE, Cecile Espera for ESP, Canniel Ordoňez for MAPEH, and Joan Espejo for SHS.

Additionally, the “Kahusayan sa Pakikitungo” awards were presented to Laarni Queen Britanico, Piedad Diola, Gina Mendoza, Jaycent Bustos, Rosalina Del Villar, Rosalinda Pereňa, and Rodolfo Ching, for their exemplary interactions with others.

Furthermore, Exekiel Jack Bacaycay was recognized for “Kagalingan sa Pangagasiwa.”

The celebration included informative lectures by dedicated educators. TLE teacher Ronald Guileňo spoke about “Electricity Maintenance and Basic Home Repair,” while Hon. City Councilor Grace Santos shared her knowledge about “Reflexology and Massage.”

The event commenced with opening remarks by Mr. Peter R. Cannon Jr. Mrs. Leuvina D. Erni, Education Program Supervisor in Araling Panlipunan, delivered an inspirational message, and Dr. Bernardita A. Perez, Education Program Supervisor in the School Governance and Operations Division, concluded with closing remarks. Dr. Basilisa Tomimbang, Public School District Supervisor (Cluster 9), graced the event with her presence.

The Women’s Month celebration was spearheaded by the GAD committee and the Araling Panlipunan teachers, led by Department Head Socorro C. Domingo. The school’s SSG officers also played a pivotal role in assisting the GAD committee in organizing the event.
