Peter R. Cannon Jr., principal of Pasay City West High School (PCWHS), together with English Department Head, Mrs. Veronica D. Miranda attended the 2022-2023 Principals’ and Supervisors’ Forum on Special Programs in Foreign Language – Chinese Mandarin at the Angeles University Foundation Confucius Institute (AUF-CI)on March 16-18, 2023.

Present in the event are Hon. Xiong Sheng, Education Counselor, Chinese Embassy, Manila; Dr. Jocelyn Andaya, Director IV, Bureau of Curriculum Development (BCD), DepEd; Dr. Mikael Sandino Andrey, Supervising Education Programs Specialist, DepEd BCD; Dr. Ria C. Gusano, Supervising Education Programs Specialist, DepED BCD; and Dr. Cavin E. Pamintuan, Philippine Director, AUF-CI.

During the event, representatives from each region reported the state and progress of the SFL-Chinese Mandarin in their respective places. After which speakers gave suggestions as to how the program can be enhanced in each school/region. Mr. Peter R. Cannon reported the progress of the program in PCWHS.

The event was attended by notable personalities such as Hon. Xiong Sheng from the Chinese Embassy, Dr. Jocelyn Andaya and Dr. Mikael Sandino Andrey from the DepEd Bureau of Curriculum Development, and Dr. Cavin E. Pamintuan from AUF-CI. During the forum, representatives from various regions reported on the progress of the SPFL-Chinese Mandarin program, followed by suggestions on how to enhance the program in each school or region. Mr. Cannon reported on the progress of the program at PCWHS.
