Pasay City West High School held its virtual celebration of Nutrition Month on July 5 to 9, 2021.
Themed “Malnutrisyon Patuloy na Labanan, First 1000 Days Tutukan.” the event encourages everyone to advocate and emphasize the importance of good nutrition during the first 1000 days of the child’s life as the strategic intervention to prevent stunting and obesity.
The week-long activity featured the following events: Poster Making Contest, Nutri-Tok, Nutri-Spoken Words, and Cook-Off Battle. The said activities raise awareness of the importance of proper nutrition in our country, especially at this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
TLE- Home Economics teachers who participated in the Cook-Off Battle presented their innovative masterpieces to our School Principal Mr. Peter R. Cannon for the final evaluation.
All winners and participants received certificates during the closing program which was done on July 9, 2021. The event was organized by TLE-Home Economics teachers led by Mrs. Elizabeth Liberty L. Villanueva, TLE-HE Department Head.
Nutrition Month is an annual celebration initiated by the NNC and is based on Presidential Decree 491, the Nutrition Act of the Philippines, signed on June 25, 1974.
