The school’s Senior Girl Scout Catherine C. Pagarigan received the Chief Girl Scout Medal from the Girl Scout of the Philippines Council on October 28, 2019 held at the Plenary Hall, Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) CCP Complex, Pasay City.

The Chief Girl Scout Award is GSP’s most prestigious award. Pagarigan is the first Girl Scout from Pasay City West High School to receive the said award and the fourth one from Pasay City Council. A total of 850 young women received the award.

The Chief Girl Scout Medal Scheme (CGSMS) is a special program created in 1975  to encourage Senior and Cadet Girl Scouts (young women aged 15-17) to initiate and implement in their respective barangays a one year community project focusing on health, cultural heritage, livelihood, and ecology.

Pagarigan led  the other Senior Girl Scout in Pasay City to promote health and hygiene among the 46 day care pupils in AKAP-BATA Day Care Center located in Barangay 184 Transmitter Area Maricaban. They sponsor a feeding program,   teaching personal hygiene, and promote proper nutrition.

The newest GSP awardee received some help and guidance from troop leaders Marylex A,. Deseo  (and her husband Archie), Adoracion R. Bartolome, Pasay City Council Pres. Marina Magbago, former PCWHS Principal and now Pasay SGOD Chief Dr. Myrna B. Gaza, former OIC – Principal now Public School District Supervisor in Taguig Dr. Anita Atienza, and her parents.

Pagarigan had a courtesy call to the new Pasay City Schools Division Superintendent and Pasay City Council Scout Commissioner Dr. Loreta B. Torrecampo on Oct. 30, 2019.
