For the third time since 2016, , Pasay City West High School’s Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL) – Mandarin has been recognized as 100% passing rate in the Nationwide Youth Chinese Test (YCT) from the Confucius Institute/ Hanban University, China.
The citation was done during the 2019 Principals’ and Supervisors’ Forum on Special Program in Foreign Language-Chinese Mandarin on July 25, 2019 at St. Cecilia’s Auditorium in Angeles University Foundation, Pampanga.
The said award was given in recognition of the school’s 100% passing rate during the 2018-2019 Nationwide Youth Chinese Test (YCT) held on December 1, 2018 which was launched by Confucius Institute/ Hanban University, China. A total of 113 students enrolled in the school’s Chinese-Mandarin program took the test.
The YCT is an international standardized test of Chinese language proficiency intended for students whose mother tongue is not Chinese. Ms. Kerstin Paradero, Ms. Lynzhee Star Yjan, Mr. Rey Baguio and Mrs. Celia L. Singcol, the Mandarin teachers trained the PCWHS Mandarin students which made them all passed in the 2018-2019 nationwide YOUTH CHINESE TEST (YCT).
Dr. Anita Atienza, the school assistant principal and Mrs. Celia L. Singcol, school SPFL Coordinator attended the said event. Present in the event are Ms. Ayette Ferriols, Senior Education Specialist of DepEd and Dr. Riza C. Gusano DepEd’s Supervising Education Program Specialist.
