Pasay City West High School joined the first quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on Feb. 22, 2019 held at the school ground.

As mandated by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the drill was done twice on that day – the first was at 9:00 am and the other at 2:00 pm. The drill was facilitated by Mr. Ireneo T. Macaspag, SDRRMC coordinator with the help of BERT, BSP and GSP officers. As soon as the bell rang, students, teachers, and school personnel as well as the canteen staff did the “duck, cover and hold” position” then immediately left the classrooms/ offices and looked for an open and safer ground. Class presidents of each section did the head counting. Present in the event were Dr. Myrna B. Gaza, department heads, a number of officials from nearby barangays, some parents, and few alumni. Evaluators of the drill were Ms. Ms. Sherilyn R. Azarcon, Mrs. Emmylou C. Gloriani, Dr. Anita R. Atienza, and Mrs. Grace B. Torres.
