With the theme “Follow the Guide. Tag a Career. Like the Future.” Pasay City West High School launched its Career Guidance Week on Oct. 9, 2018 at the school gym. Dressed in their future careers, grade 10 students paraded in the school ground. Present in the event are Mrs. Consolacion Diaz, Education Program Supervisor for Values Education; Ms. Andrea Cabansag,DOLE-Makati/Pasay Field Office Director II; Ms. Filipinas Rosario Sampang, PESO Manager Pasay; Ms. Lourdes de Guzman, Educational Scholarship Professional Development Foundation (SOFSM) vice-president; Mrs. Rosy P. Buctuan, Guidance teacher; Ms. Lucila Monton, MAPEH Head Department; Mrs. Veronica D. Miranda, English Head Department/Gr10 Coordinator; Mr. Rico Apelado, SHS Master Teacher; and Gradea 10 advisers/teachers.
In her speech, Ms. Andrea Cabansag named the top10 highest paid jobs in the country. Then, Ms. Filipinas Rosario Sampang introduced her team and explained the programs of the City’s about public employment service. Mr. Rico Apelado informed the grade 10 students of the tracks that are offered in PCWHS. He also described the latest facilities of the school particularly in the food and beverage strand like the air-conditioned laboratory room filled with needed equipment in cooking, and bartending. Mrs. Monton gave the opening remarks in lieu of the school principal Dr. Myrna B. Gaza who, with Mrs. Nida D. Raagas, is currently attending a conference. The school’s Chorale and Angklung Ensemble led the singing of the National Anthem and Pasay March while Mrs. Cecille Espera did the invocation. During the second day, (October 9), grade 10 students toured the SHS building and were able to see the school facilities for the SHS students.
