Pasay City West High School (PCWHS) welcomes Ms. Cao Lamei, our Chinese Volunteer Teacher, who arrives at the school this August. She will stay at PCWHS until April 2026 under the SPFL–Chinese Mandarin Program, mentoring and supporting the local Mandarin teachers in both language instruction and Chinese cultural practices.
Ms. Cao is formally introduced to the school by Dr. Cavin Pamintuan, Philippine Director of the Confucius Institute at Angeles University Foundation (CI-AUF), together with Ms. Nicole, CI-AUF Secretary. Through their support, Ms. Cao mentors and guides the local Mandarin teachers, focusing on Chinese language pedagogy and cultural knowledge, strengthening the SPFL–Chinese program at PCWHS. Her presence ensures that the local teachers gain deeper insights into effective teaching strategies, classroom activities, and cultural content, enriching the learning experience for students.
The welcoming ceremony is led by School Principal Mr. Agapito Teodoro N. Manaog, along with the school’s Mandarin teachers: Ms. Celia L. Singcol, Ms. Mary Ann Latupan, and Ms. Lhynzhee Star Yjan Mangantilao. Principal Manaog expressed his appreciation to CI-AUF for their continued partnership, which enables PCWHS to offer a robust and culturally immersive Mandarin program for its learners.
PCWHS takes pride in being the only public high school in Pasay City offering the SPFL–Chinese Mandarin Program, promoting language learning, cultural exchange, and global competence among its students. With Ms. Cao’s guidance, the school is confident that the local Mandarin teachers will be empowered to deliver even more effective and culturally rich lessons, further strengthening the program’s impact.
