Pasay City West High School celebrated the commitment and passion of its educators during the 2025 World Teachers’ Day held on October 10, 2025, at the Jose Rizal Elementary School Gymnasium.

The highlight of the celebration was the announcement of the Huwarang Tanglaw sa Kanluran awardees. The winners in the Master Teacher category were Mrs. Sandra Gali (1st Place), Mrs. Imelda Onte (2nd Place), and Mr. Rommel Macatiag (3rd Place). In the Teacher I-III category, the winners were Ms. Almeda Macaranas (1st Place), Ms. Liezl Clemente (2nd Place), and Mr. Ralph Malacad (3rd Place).

Other nominees for the Master Teacher category included Mrs. Celia L. Singcol, Mrs. Digna De Leon, Mrs. Maria Corazon Fuentes, Mrs. Adelina Limos, Mrs. Jenitha Origenes, Ms. Arlene Joy Jacob, and Mrs. Vivian Agulto. For the Teacher I-III category, nominees were Mrs. Elizabeth Avila, Mr. Dan Sajorda, Mrs. Piedad Diola, Mr. Ignacio Tolentino, Ms. Fria Canlas, Ms. Cecile B. Espera, and Ms. Shella Clair Cabicol.

The event also honored loyal and retired teachers for their years of service. Ms. Madelyn Buenaobra was recognized for her 40 years of teaching, while Mrs. Mildred C. Romanban was honored for 35 years.

Teachers who rendered 30 years of service were Mrs. Gina T. Villanueva, Mrs. Kharisma G. Sim, Mrs. Jeannie A. Ebue, Mrs. Socorro C. Domingo, Mrs. Jocelyn C. Chinchilla, Mrs. Ma. Gloria C. Castillo, Mr. Juanito C. Atienza, and Mrs. Rosa R. Alferez, Assistant Principal II. Mrs. Filipina A. De Guzman was awarded for 25 years of service.

Those who have dedicated 20 years to the teaching profession include Mr. Omar I. Aguilar, Mr. Jaycent M. Bustos, Mr. Rodolfo C. Del Rosario, Mrs. Cecile B. Espera, Mr. Ireneo T. Macaspag, Mrs. Joji A. Uson, and Mrs. Rosan P. Beboso.

Teachers recognized for 15 years of service were Mrs. Mary Ann A. Arizza, Mr. Exequiel M. Bacaycay, Ms. Janice A. Bergonia, Mrs. Ma. Gina P. Bituaran, Ms. Chrismarilene R. Cabataña, Mrs. Hanna Ruth R. David, Mrs. Marietta T. Diaz, Mrs. Rica Joy D. Gloria, Mrs. Grace R. Legada, Mrs. Narcissa V. Lim, Mrs. Celia L. Singcol, and Mrs. Adelina P. Limos. For 10 years of service, Mr. August D. Buado, Mrs. Sandra H. Gali, Mrs. Manilyn L. Dulid, and Mr. Arnulfo Magno were acknowledged.

Retired teachers Ms. Madelyn Buenaobra, Ms. Marilou Bardaje, and Mrs. Myrna Pantoja were also given tribute for their years of dedication to education.

In his message, Mr. Agapito Teodoro N. Manaog, Principal IV, reminded teachers to continue honing learners’ values and skills with compassion and integrity. Present during the celebration were Assistant Principals Mrs. Rosa R. Alferez and Mrs. Ena R. Tamayo, faculty members, students, and SPTA President Ms. Rubie Latayan.

The program opened with a prayer led by Aika Claire Liyac, Knights Campus Integrity Crusaders (CIC) President, followed by the entrance of colors by members of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP). Annika Maramba, SSLG President, delivered the closing remarks, while Noah James T. Diaz and Bryan Jose Gabriel B. Caalim served as masters of ceremonies.

The celebration was organized by the PCWHS Faculty Club and SSLG officers, under the supervision of the school administrators, headed by Mr. Manaog. Members of the CIC and BSP also extended their assistance throughout the event.
