To honor the retirees from both elementary and secondary levels, including teaching and non-teaching staff unwavering commitment to their work, the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Pasay City held a special program called “Tribute to Retirees” on Sept. 29, 2023 at Padre Zamora Elementary School. During the event, retirees received plaques of appreciation and special gifts from SDO Pasay.

The awarding ceremony was attended by notable figures such as Dr. Joel T. Torrecampo, CESO VI, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Officer-in-Charge, Office of the Schools Division Superintendent of Pasay City; Dr. Arturo A. Tolentino, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Pasay City; Dr. Severo A. Bajado, Chief Education Program Supervisor, School Governance and Operations Division; Dr. Bernardita A. Perez, Education Program Supervisor; school heads of elementary and secondary schools in Pasay City, and other SDO Pasay personnel.

Dr. Joel T. Torrecampo delivered an inspirational message, followed by Dr. Bernardita A. Perez reading the citation of the plaque of appreciation. The Schools Division Superintendent, together with Dr. Tolentino, Dr. Bajado, and Dr. Perez, presented the plaques to the retirees.

Five teacher retirees from Pasay City West High School were honored, including:

Ms. Rosalina L. Del Villar, Master Teacher II in Science and Technology (32 years in service).

Mr. Robert L. Sandajan, Teacher III in MAPEH (36 years).

Ms. Rowena A. Tablada, Teacher III in Araling Panlipunan (36 years).

Ms. Luisa V. Bautista, Teacher III in Araling Panlipunan (39 years).

Ms. Susan P. Cunanan, Teacher III in Araling Panlipunan (41 years).

The Pasay City West High School Choir led the event with a prayer, followed by the National Anthem and Pasay March, all led by their trainer, Ms. Chrismarilene R. Cabataňa. Likewise, the PCWHS dance troupe gave an impressive cultural dance performance, trained by Mr. Canniel Q. Ordoňez and Mrs. Narcissa Lim.

Towards the end of the program, a Grade 10 student from PCWHS, Frank Harvey L. Marasigan, recited a poem, and Ms. Cabataňa rendered a song. Following this, Mr. Ordoňez and Mrs. Lim, together with the PCWHS Dance Troupe, performed an interpretative dance of Ms. Cabataňa’s song. To conclude the event, Dr. Severo Bajado gave the closing remarks. The emcees for the event were Mr. Giovanni Rex T. Sorita and Mrs. Kharisma G. Sim.
