With the theme “Kumain ng Wasto at maging Aktibo…Push Natin ‘to!”, Pasay City West High School celebrated the Nutrition Month 2019.
The month-long celebration kicked-off on July 13, 2019 with the Home Economics teachers and students. Various activities and contests highlighted the affair. First of which is the five-day urban gardening held on July 15-19 where students and teachers planted green leafy vegetables on pots. Students showed their artistic strokes in the poster making contest held on July 19 at Home Economics Building. Mrs. Teresita Pamplona facilitated the contest while Mr. Alejandrino De Vera and Mr.Roberto Querubin Baňez judged the students’ output.
On July 23, students’ intelligence was tested in the Nutri-Quiz supervised by Ms. Manansala and Ms. Ramos. Finally, Grade 9 and 10 students displayed their passion in cooking as they competed to prepare the best innovative one-dish-meal during the Nutri-Cook Fest on July 31.
Judges of the contest were Dr. Merlino Mateo, the school dentist; Mrs. Filipina De Guzman, the school nurse and Mrs. Espejo. Winners of the contest received a certificate of recognition during the closing ceremony held on August 1. Mrs. Elizabeth Villanueva, Home Economics Department head distributed the certificates.
